Abstract

• The number of foreign tourists visiting in Sumatera Utara through 4 (four) entrances in January 2019 reached 14,149 visits, experiencing a decline of 35.00 percent compared to those arriving in December 2018 reaching 21,769 visits.

• In the period of January 2019, the number of tourists visiting Sumatera Utaradecreased 5.67 percent compared to the same period in 2018, ie from 14,999 visits in 2018 it dropped to 14,149 visits in 2019

• In January 2019, foreign tourists from Malaysia were the most visitors with 8,573 visits or 60.59 percent of the total foreign tourists visiting Sumatera Utara.

• The Room Occupancy Rate (TPK) of star hotels in Sumatera Utara in January 2019 reached an average of 43.76 percent, down 0.20 points compared to December 2018 of 43.96 percent.

• The average length of stay of foreign guests and Indonesian guests in star-rated hotels in January 2019 reached 1.62 days, an increase of 0.20 points compared to December 2018.

• The number of domestic passengers departing from Sumatera Utara through Kualanamu International Airport during January 2019 reached 280,839 people, up 9.04 percent compared to December 2018 which reached 257,567 people.

• The number of passengers on inter-island (domestic) sea transportation departing in January 2019 was 22,492 people, up 134.29 percent compared to the previous month's 9,600 people.
